More about my winter pictures
Of course, I don’t go out to paint as often in winter – but I do! I’ve now found ways to keep my feet from freezing despite standing for so long. And it often doesn’t hurt my paintings if I hurry a bit more than usual. It’s a bit tricky at sub-zero temperatures: the oil in the oil paints then becomes viscous and the titanium white in particular almost pulls threads!
My favorite thing to paint is snow – how all that white completely changes the landscape, draws out the contrasts, and how beautifully blue the shadows pop out in the sunshine… !
As it rarely snows in the lowlands in winter, I’m very happy about the nearby Taunus.
